Faculty Are Struggling

They're struggling to...

  • ๐Ÿ“š Stay productive in (and excited about) their research.
  • ๐Ÿ’ก Grow and stay engaged in their teaching.
  • ๐Ÿ˜ฃ Support stressed students while struggling to cope with their own stress.

They're burnt out and don't know what to do about it.

Faculty are experts in their fields. That does NOT make them experts at managing their productivity, stress, and engagement.

๐Ÿงญ Faculty need actionable guidance that makes it easier for them to thrive in academia. And wouldn't it be great if the guidance made it easier for them to support students too?

The Solution

Faculty Need:

  1. ๐Ÿงฉ A clear framework that allows them to identify the psychological factors holding themselves and their students back.
  2. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Practical techniques they can use to make the necessary changes.
  3. ๐Ÿ”ฅย Strategies for rekindling their excitement for academia and sharing this excitement with students โ€“ faculty and students canโ€™t thrive without this excitement.

Our Framework:

Our framework will give faculty a clear foundation for assessing their own needs and those of their students. It identifies the 4 skillsets that allow both faculty and students to feel energized and unstoppable in their work.

Faculty and students need techniques for managing theirโ€ฆ

  • Mental pulls (i.e., eagerness, excitement)
  • Mind (e.g., stress, concentration)
  • Tasks (what to do)
  • Time (when to do it)

Imagine faculty feeling more excited and productive in their teaching and research. Imagine this excitement and productivity spreading to students.

Our group faculty workshops give faculty the knowledge and resources to get there.

Group Faculty Workshops

We offer workshops to any groups of teaching and/or research faculty.

All of our workshops are rooted in our 4-factor productivity framework. Faculty learn how to use this framework to help themselves and their students through a wide range of struggles.

Workshop topics can include:

  • โœ… Productivity: The 4 skillsets (managing tasks, time, mind, & mental pulls)
  • ๐ŸŒช๏ธ Stress:ย Harmful & helpful types
  • ๐Ÿง  ADHD: Faculty struggle with ADHD too!
  • ๐Ÿ”ฅ Engagement: โ†‘ excitement, โ†‘ performance
  • ๐Ÿ“š Procrastination:ย Sources & solutions
  • ๐Ÿ’ค Boredom: Turn it into excitement (even in meetings)
  • ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿฝโ€โ™‚๏ธ Burnout: Escape it with excitement
  • ๐Ÿค–ย AI in Academia: How, when, & why

Workshops can also include teaching-focused topics such as:

  • ๐Ÿ’ก Enabling student engagement: There's more to it than just making content interesting.
  • โœ… Enabling student productivity: Structure class activities/assignments to encourage productivity.
  • ๐Ÿค– Incorporating AI in teaching: Leverage the ultimate tool for student engagement and learning.

We can also customize the workshop topics based on your needs.
